George Costanza – “I gotta focus. I’m shifting into soup mode.”
GEORGE: I don’t know. He can be so weird sometimes.
ELAINE: Yeah.
GEORGE: I still haven’t figured him out.
ELAINE: No. Me neither.
GEORGE: All right. Shh! I gotta focus. I’m shifting into soup mode.
ELAINE: Oh, God!
GEORGE: Good afternoon. One large crab bisque to go. Bread. Beautiful.
SOUP NAZI: You’re pushing your luck little man.
GEORGE: Sorry. Thank you.

Who is George Costanza?
George Costanza (Jason Alexander) is Jerry’s oldest friend and the show’s patron saint of bad decisions — “Lord of the Idiots,” serial job-loser, occasional architect named Art Vandelay, and, when the moment demands it, a marine biologist. Based loosely on co-creator Larry David, which explains a lot. Appears in every episode but one, presumably because he had nowhere else to be.
